Sale-a-bration is in Full Swing!

You can easily add variety to your projects by simply changing the orientation of card.  I spotted the card on the right a someone's blog recently.  Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the blog.  By changing the orientation from portrait to landscape and adding a different sentiment, I got a completely different look.

Don't neglect the inside of your cards!  It is easy to dress them up by adding a stamped image.

Card Recipe
Stamp Set:  Madison Avenue, Mixed Medley, and Friendly Phrases.
Paper:  Sycamore Street, Whisper White, Pool Party, Island Indigo.
Ink: Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Starfruit.
Tools: Delicate Doilies Sizzlits L, 3/4" Circle Punch, 7/8" Scallop Punch, Scallop Trim Border, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Sycamore Street Ribbon and Button Pack, and Island Indigo Baker's Twine.

Madison Avenue and Sycamore Street

You have a chance to earn a bundle which includes the Madison Avenue Stamp Set, Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper, and the matching ribbon and button set when hosting a $400 workshop during Sale-a-bration. This FREE bundle is in addition to the regular Hostess dollars.  WOW!  What a deal.

These products coordinate perfectly.  Today have have used the Madison Avenue set to make my own designer paper.  Simply choose 3 different stamps and ink colors.  Always begin with the largest stamp!  I typically stamp a 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  Add a coordinating strip of DSP and a sentment.  Several can be completed quickly, make them all alike or switch it up a bit.  It is your choice.

Sunburst Technique

I have wanted to try the Sunburst Technique for a long time.  I have noticed several cards on the blogs I follow but it never seemed to be the right time.  When I saw the Sunshine sentiment in the Feels Goods Stamp Set, it seemed perfect for my first attempt.  The hardest part of the design was deciding which papers to use and how to lay them out.

The font and the sayings in the Feels Good Stamp Set are perfect for so many occasions.  The cute little sun is from the Spring Sampler set.

Card Recipe
Stamp Set: Feels Good, Spring Sampler
Paper:  Summer Smooches, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight.
Ink:  Island Indigo, Real Red
Accessories:  Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, 1 1/4" and 1" Circle Punch, Designer Rhinestones.

Sycamore Street Clothespins

Before Christmas, I purchased unfinished clothespins from my local big box store.  I had planned to use them to make a Christmas project but time ran out.  Imagine that!  Enter Plan B, the prints in the Sycamore Street Designer Paper pack and Madison Avenue stamp set are the perfect size to decorate the clothes pins.  I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add 1/2" strips of DSP.  The flowers were made by punching out and stacking several scrunched up 7/8" Scallops.  Wouldn't these make a cute gift?

Recipe
Stamp Set:  Madison Avenue (Sale-a-bration)
Paper:  Sycamore Street DSP, Island Indigo, Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White.
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo
Tools:  Floral Frames Framelits, 1 1/4" and 7/8" Scallop punches, Itty Bitty Punch pack, Designer Rhinestones, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp Club Project #2 Variation

Just another variation on the card made by my Stamp Club this month.  I always prepare more kits than are needed for my Stampin' Up events.  This practice leaves me with bits and pieces to use on similar cards. This week I took some time to try some different variations.
What do you think?

Card Recipe
Stamp Set:  Made for You
Paper: Sycamore Street DSP, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Island Indigo.
Ink:  Island Indigo
Tools:  Honeycomb and Chevron Texture Folders, Full Heart Punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits, Designer Builder Brads, 1" Square Punch.

Print Poetry

If you have been following my blog, you have probably noticed.
I LOVE THE HONEYCOMB TEXURE FOLDER!
There are so many different ways to use it.
Today's post uses octagons snipped from DSP and glued onto card stock which was run through the Big Shot in the Honeycomb folder. This idea was cas'd from Mary Fish.

Several new products were used.
  • The sentiments from the Oh! Hello stamp set are so versatile.  I know I will use them often.
  • The Print Poetry Paper pack features multiple color grouping and it is only $6.95 for 48 sheets/12 different designs.  A card makers' dream!
  • The Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon adds just the right touch.
  • Three different pieces of DSP were run through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb folder. I snipped out several octagons and randomly placed them on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock which also has the honeycomb texture.
Card Recipe
Stamp Set:  Oh! Hello
Paper:  Print Poetry DSP Stack, Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse.
Ink:  White Craft Ink
Tools:  Multipurpose Liquid Glue or SNAIL Adhesive, Honeycomb Texture Folder, Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon.

January Stamp Club Project #2

January is an exciting month with the release of the Spring Catalog and the upcoming Sale-a-bration promotion. It was so hard to decide the projects for this month's stamp club because there are so many to choose from and I am a "got to have it" girl.

Our second project is a Valentine card using non-traditional colors and several new products.
  • The Ticket Duo Builder punch was not on my list of must haves until I spotted the "That's the Ticket" stamp set  in the Spring Catalog.  Check out the two tickets, I used.
  • Texture adds detail to any card and three different folders were used on this project.  If you have not ordered the Honeycomb Texture folder, be sure to put it on your list.
  • The Sycamore Designer Series paper and the matching ribbon and buttons which are free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration are teamed with Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and Island Indigo.
  • I used the Full Heart punch and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits to make the focal point of the card.

Card Recipe
Stamp Sets:  That's The Ticket
Paper:  Sycamore Street DSP, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Whisper White.
Ink:  Island Indigo and Calypso Coral
Tool:  Ticket Duo Builder punch, 1" Square punch, Full Heart punch, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, Stripes, Chevron, and Honeycomb texture folders, Sycamore Street button/ribbon pack, Pool Party Baker's Twine, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Valentine Treat Bundle

Stampin' Up is offering two Valentine specials which are only available until January 21st.  The Happy Valentine Heart single stamp is an easy way to make quick treats for a school party, co-workers, or any special person in your life.  When you order this stamp, you will get 50 - 1" X 8" cellophane bags FREE.
I am always on the lookout for small candies, lotions, bags, or small boxes to use with my Stampin' Up supplies.  I found small red and white chevron bags at one of my favorite stores.  They were perfect for this Valentine project.  I cut approximately 1 1/2" off the top of the bag and added one of our new doilies from the Spring Catalog as a topper.  The doily tucks behind the heart embellishment.  Fill it with these cute little candy suckers for a fun gift.

January Stamp Club Project #1

January is such an exciting month to be a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  The new Spring Catalog is wonderful.  Sale-a-Bration is just around the corner and stay tuned for several exciting announcements.
The minute I saw the new Hearts a Flutter bundle I knew it would be a winner.  It is featured in our first project for Stamp Club this month. Just after Christmas, I found the cutest little bubble wands at a local big box store.  Here is the fun little Valentine card which includes a non-candy treat for the your special little Valentine's.

The base of the little card was made from a 3 1/2" X 7" piece of either Basic Black or Basic Gray. We used a 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" piece of First Edition Specialty or More Amore Designer Paper to cover the front cover.  A coordinating piece was added to the inside.  A combination of hearts and banners from the Hearts a Flutter were used to decorate the cover and inside.

A quick and easy Valentine treat.

Hearts a Flutter Valentine Card

I am having such fun with the Hearts a Flutter Stamp set and framelits.  It is so versatile.  Today's card again features the Honeycomb Texture folder.  It is probably no secret that I really love this new folder.  I have seen several bloggers stamping small images in the honeycomb and just had to give it a try.  Placement can be a little tricky but with a little practice anyone can get it just right. I chose a small stamp from the Madison Avenue set from Sale-a-brations.

Here is a second card using a different orientation but a similar layout and supplies.

They are both quick and easy but oh so cute!

Card Recipe
Stamp Sets:  Hearts a Flutter Bundle, Madison Avenue, and Seasonal Sayings.
Paper:  Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse, and Whisper White.
Ink: Midnight Muse and Primrose Petals
Tools:  Large Oval Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, Honeycomb Texture folder, and Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

      Pals Paper Arts

I have been away for a while but now I am ready to get busy with the new year.  Today's project was made using the Pals Paper Arts challenge.  This challenge uses the color combination of Melon Mambo, Basic Grey, and Basic Black. It is so striking and just beautiful.

I recently ordered the First Edition Specialty paper but had not used it yet.  This was the perfect project to team the First Edition DSP and the brand new Hearts a Flutter bundle from the Spring Catalog.

The card base is made from a piece of 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" Basic Black.  A 4" X 5 1/4" piece of First Edition Specialty paper is layered over the card base.  The Black and Very Vanilla striped paper is from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper.  It makes a cute scalloped canopy across the top of the card.  The Hearts a Flutter stamp set and "Love you" sentiment add just the right touch to complete the card.

Here is another version. Which do you like the best?
