Stamp Club Project #1

After several weeks of fighting the flu and a lingering cough, I am back on track.  I hope to start posting projects again regularly.  If you are visiting, thanks for hanging in there with me.
Last week, my stamp clubs met and made two cute 3D projects.  They turned out so cute!

Today I am sharing pictures of a Rudolph Bag.  I originally found this idea on Pinterest, which was designed by Debbie Henderson at Debbie's Designs.  Here is my version.

The bag was created from a Crumb Cake envelope.  The antlers were made with the oak leaf from the Autumn Accents Bigz die.  Some of the girls added texture with the Perfect Polka Dots folder. The muzzle is an extra-wide oval punched from Soft Suede.  Early Expresso was added to the edges with a sponge dauber.  The eyes were made using the Small Oval punch and Whisper White cardstock and the 1/2" Circle punch and Basic Black.  Rudolph's red nose is a 1/2" Circle of Red Glimmer Paper.

Check out a few of the reindeer made by members of my Stamp Clubs.

One of the girls came up with the idea to add the antlers to the front of the bag.  Aren't they cute!

Card Details
Paper:  Soft Suede, Whisper White, Basic Black, and Red Glimmer Paper
Ink:  Early Expresso
Tools: Autumn Accents Bigz die, Extra-Large Oval, Small Oval, and 1/2" Circle Punches; White Chalk Marker, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker,

Welcome to this month's blog hop.  The Pals are a very talented group and I am thankful to among them.  I enjoy using Stampin' Up products in unique ways.  I hope you like my home décor project!

I used  Modge Podge to adhere a 3 1/2" X 5 3/4" piece of Eastern Elegance DSP to wooden block, which measures 6".  The wooden block was cut from a 2 X 4 and stained.  I used the Wonderfall Stamp Set and the Expression Thinlits to decorate the front of the block.  Easy Peasy!  It only took 15 minutes to complete.

New Thinlits Dies - Christmas Card

At convention this year, Stampin' Up announced the NEW Thinlits Dies to make Flip Cards.  From the beginning I knew these were a "must have" additional to my card making supplies.  For this card I teamed up the Festive Flurry stamp bundle and the Seasons of Style paper stack.  These cards are quick and easy.

Card Details
Stamp Sets:  Festive Flurry Bundle and Merry Little Christmas
Paper:  Seasons of Style, Cherry Cobbler, Crump Cake, and Whisper White
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler and Early Expresso
Cool Tools:  Circle Thinlits Dies, Festive Flurry Dies, Perfect Polka Dots Texture Folder
Accessories:  Designer Rhinestones

Thinlits Card Dies

They've been called flip cards, flip flop cards, swing cards, and more-but they have always been a bit tricky to create. Not anymore! Our amazing new Thinlits Card Dies cut and score to create a card that flips in just one step.
ItemDescriptionPrice
133479Label Card Thinlits Die$32.95
133480Circle Card Thinlits Die$32.95
Available August 1, 2013
There are some products you just have to see in action before you realize how much you need them, right? This is one of them! Plan to feature these dies in your events and share the video. When your customers see what they can do, they will place their orders.
These new card dies come with extra die pieces that have versatile designs, so you can use them on other projects, not just flip cards. (The Circle Card Thinlits Die comes with 10 total pieces; the Label Card Thinlits Die comes with nine total pieces.)
With the number of dies you're getting, plus the die that creates the card itself, the price is a great value-especially to create an interactive card!
  • Mass production of these impressive "flip" cards is easy. They would make great announcements, invitations, or Christmas cards.
  • These Thinlits Card Dies will be available at least through the 2013-2014 catalog year.
  • The main shape in the cards (circle and label) can work with a lot of our stamp images so you can create tons of different kinds of cards using many different stamp sets. Here are just a few suggestions to get you started:
Label Card Thinlits Die (item 133479):
  • Happy Day Stamp Set (item 130294 W item 130297 C)
Circle Card Thinlits Die (item 133480):
  • Worth the Wait Stamp (item 131094 W)
  • Five-Way Flower Stamp (item 131088 W)
Both card dies pair well with:
  • Oh, Hello Stamp Set (item 131931 W item 130733 C)
  • Yippee-Skippee! Stamp Set (item 131341 W item 131344 C)
  • Really Good Greetings Stamp Set (item 130330 W item 130333 C)
  • Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set (item 130324 W item 130327 C)
  • These dies also work well with our new magnetic platform (item 130658) so you can place the dies exactly where you want them!

September Pals Blog Hop - School Tools

2013sephop_badge

Thank you for joining us for the September Pals Blog Hop. This month we are showcasing projects made with the Stampin' Up! tools we love.
You should have just left stop number 16 on the Pals Hop - Katy McGloin at Just Fun Stamping. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

There are so many great tools to choose from and I love them all.  Some of my favorites include the Texture folders.  For a minimal cost you can dress up any project easily.  Also our  punches and framelits which coordinate with our stamps sets are the best.  With the bundle pricing you can even 15%.   LAST BUT NOT LEAST--our paper trimmer and envelope punch board are the best.

At convention this year , Stampin' Up announced the NEW Envelope Punch Board.  I just received mine last week and I am just learning what it can do.  I am excited!  This is a "gotta have it" tool.  At $19.99, it is a deal.

Here are a few things you need to know:

  • It creates totally customizable envelopes in up to 66 different sizes (not to mention a million different color and pattern options depending on the paper you want to use). Even tried and true envelope sizes will only take you moments to create!
  • It's super easy to use; all you have to do is measure for the first punch and from there you just turn and score.
  • It's small and lightweight; this makes it easy for you to take it along. It's small and light enough that you could use it while watching a soccer match, at a park, at a friend's for craft night-anywhere.
  • It even has a slick scoring tool as well as a punch that lets you create rounded corners on your envelopes.
  • It's easy to keep it all together; the stylus storage compartment and two punches are designed into the tool so you don't have a bunch of little pieces to keep track of (even the instructions are printed right on the tool so you won't lose them!).
  • The price is terrific-especially for a tool that does so much!
  • It will be in next year's annual catalog, so it's here to stay.
The inspiration for my card today came from a youtube video done by Patty Bennett.  She demonstrated how to make file folder cards using the Envelope Punch Board and the Stampin' Up Trimmer.  We made this card at Card Club last week.  Check it out!

 Card Details
Stamp Sets:  Tags 4 You, and Magnificent Maple
Paper:  Sweater Weather, Early Expresso, Very Vanilla, Crushed Curry
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Crushed Curry,  and Early Expresso
Cool Tools:  Envelope Punch Board and Stampin' Up Trimmer, 2 3/8" Circle Punch, Bracket Punch, Artisan Punch
Accessories:  Linen Thread, Midnight Muse Satin Stitched Ribbon, Designer Pearls

Here are a couple more samples of file folder cards.  Check out the Washi Tape!  It is a quick way to decorate a card.

I used one of the new thinlits dies to cut out the "Thankful for...." sentiment.  Each of the dies for the new Flip Cards comes with several dies which can be used on any project.

To place an order for any of these great products visit my online store now!

And this is just the beginning!  You can even use it to make different types of cards.  Let you imagination run wild.

Regarding Dahlias

Right now one of my favorite color combination is Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry.  I am so glad Stampin' Up brought back these colors.

I stamped the dahlia from Regarding Dahlias in Black Staz'on on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I used sponge daubers to add Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry to the flower.  Texture was added to the card front with the new Stylish Stipes Texture folder.  A quick sentiment and a bit of Chevron Ribbon.

Card Details

Ink:  Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry
Cool Tools:  Stylish Stripes Texture Folder, Artisan Label Punch

Cutest Baby Ever

This past weekend we celebrated the 1st birthday of my darling granddaughter.  In honor of her birthday, I case'd a card I received in a swap at convention.  It uses several Stampin' Up punches to make a cute little girl.  Check it out!

Card Details
Stamp Set:  A Round Array
Paper:  In Color Designer Series Paper, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Early Expresso
Ink:  Strawberry Slush
Cool Tools:  2 3/8" Circle, Small Heart, Cupcake Builder, Large Oval,  7/8" Scallop Circle Punches, Perfect Polka Dot Texture Folder, Dress Up Framelits.
Accessories:  Designer Rhinestones, Stampin' Dimensionals

 Tips:
  • Two small hearts form the bows in her hair.
  • I used 2- 2" X 1/2" strips of Early Expresso to form each pigtail.  I used a pencil to curl the hair.
  • A sponge dauber was used to add the rosy cheeks.
  • Her dress is made from the dress bottom on the Dress Up framelits.
  • The arms are two large ovals punched from Pink Pirouette cardstock.

Here is the Birthday Girl checking out her presents.
Being a "Mimi" is the best job in the world.

Merry Christmas Wreath

I am dreaming of a White Christmas in August.  The temperatures in Kansas are inching towards 100 this week.  After a few weeks of beautiful fall like weather, it is hot!  I am hoping to keep cool by working on some Christmas projects.

These two cards feature some of the products from the Holiday catalog.  The Expression Thinlits, the Wonderful Wreath stamp, and Seasons of Style Designer Series Paper Stack.  They make  quite a statement without much time and effort.
